Hajah Maimunah has been serving traditional Malay and Indonesian dishes since the 1990s. They serve the same food to this day- wishing to maintain their rustic vibe and flavourful dishes. Throughout the years they have also catered to other Malay/Muslim events such as weddings, Hari Raya celebrations, etc. They serve their quality dishes to all walks of life. Their main goal is to provide Malays with a taste of the past and also give people unfamiliar with their culture a peek into Malay and Indonesian flavours. They are now expanding across Singapore, with their recent expansions reaching to the east at Tampines Mall- giving everyone a chance to try out their food!

Hajah Maimunah serves family-style dishes, meant to be shared by friends and family. In times when everyone is eating on their own or not spending as much time with one another, Hajah Maimunah attempts to change that- one meal at a time. While they do serve individual dishes, the best way to enjoy their food is to order rice for everyone at the table, and a bunch of dishes! You can feel the homely, comforting environment!

Their most famous dishes are always in contention as everyone who goes there have different favourites! But, we managed to compile their most essential dishes to share with your friends and family. Firstly, their Tahu Telor Jakarta ($8.00) is a tower of fried, eggy tofu omelette with shredded veggies on top. It is then doused in their signature prawn paste sauce. This gives it a rich and sweet flavour that pairs great with rice and the other dishes!

There are also the more classic dishes. They have Lemak Siput Sedut ($10.50) which has a rich coconut gravy with succulent snails, great  poured over rice. BBQ Pomfret ($14.00) is extremely flaky and fresh, with smoky barbeque flavour and served with their sweet sambal kicap. And last but not least, Their Ayam Panggang ($8.00) is beyond amazing. Strong smoky, barbeque flavour, juicy and tender meat and also pair with their sweet sambal kicap. All you need now is a bit of rice and you are set!
