As we bid farewell to Halloween, we also welcome the approach of the magical winter season. You no longer need to splurge on a trip to Hokkaido to enjoy the taste of winter! Simply make your way to Takashimaya’s Hokkaido Food Fair. From now till 20 November 2023, savour the flavours of Hokkaido at Takashimaya Square, which sits on basement two of Takashimaya Shopping Centre.
This food fair boasts over 34 stalls, offering a diverse range from desserts such as daifuku and pudding to premium seafood items such as uni and ikura from Hokkaido. Look forward to many new stalls making their first appearance at this food fair as well!
Maruamami is one of the returning stalls, known for their Mochi Obanyaki Pancake ($4), which were also featured in this year’s Takashimaya Japan Summer Food Fair. A highly recommended item is the creamy and sweet Purple Sweet Potato ($4) that’s not too cloying. Alternatively, go for their other flavours such as Black Sesame ($4) and An-Cheese ($4.50), which is a combination of red bean and tangy cream cheese.

Make a stop at Le Varo for a delightful sweet treat. They are recognised for their Hokkaido ice cream, crafted from low-fat milk and minimal sugar, and no added preservatives. You can choose from six different flavours, with some new additions to the line-up! There are Rich Milk, Cantaloupe Melon, Buttered Corn, Cinnamon Apple and Sweet Potato, Honey Yuzu Sorbet, and Gyokuro and Mascarpone, where gyokuro is a premium shade-grown green tea.
For something savoury, Niku Master offers Wagyu Bao ($6), which features tender, thinly sliced, and fatty beef sandwiched between a steamed mantou, similar to that of kong bak bao.
