Soi 47 Thai Food is a popular Thai restaurant in Singapore
We’ve recently written a guide on the best Thai restaurants in Singapore, though many of the ones on the list are standalone eateries, and aren’t as accessible to everyone. Soi 47 Thai Food, however, stands apart with its five outlets islandwide, and its repertoire of affordable, highly rated Thai food.

The casual restaurant has a substantial menu of classic Thai eats, most priced under $15, a price that’s hard to beat for some of the central locations you’ll find the eatery in. Currently, you can find Soi 47 Thai in Toa Payoh Lorong 6, Jalan Besar, Yong Siak Street, Eu Tong Sen Street, and Orchard Road.

If you’re lost for choice, here are some recommendations. Their claypot offerings are amongst the most popular mains available. If you love the steelpot prawn and vermicelli dish known as goong ob woon sen, you have to try Soi 47 Thai’s rendition. Priced at $12.80++, their Claypot Tang Hoon with Prawns stars wok hei-infused glass noodles with a generous serving of stir-fried shrimp.
For something soupy, zone in on their Claypot Tom Yam Mama ($11.80++), where a zesty, house-made tom yum goong broth, with notes of kaffir lime and lemongrass, is topped with a generous serving of shrimp, handmade meatballs, and a runny soft-boiled egg.

Those dining with friends should order their whole seabass, available in several flavours. Both deep-fried and steamed options are available, but a crowd favourite is the Steamed Seabass with Thai Lime Sauce ($19.80++). A fresh, whole seabass is steamed in a zingy, spicy lime juice sauce laced with chilli padi for an added kick.
For other seafood options that are similar to those you get in Thailand, try their BBQ Salt Crusted Fish ($19.80++), a street food staple that’s often sold in night markets.
Aside from the above, Soi 47 Thai also has an array of other classic Thai dishes, from Crab Omelette ($20++), Pineapple Fried Rice ($6++), Pad Thai with Seafood ($6++) and plenty more.
