Mr Holmes Bakehouse Singapore

The cruffin once took the world by storm when it first hit the bake scene in 2013, but it only became an official thing when Mr Holmes Bakehouse in San Francisco popularised and trademarked it in 2014. This June, Mr Holmes Bakehouse lands on Singapore’s shores when it opens its first Southeast Asian flagship at Pacific Plaza.

Slated to be a 41-seater bakery-cafe on the first floor of Pacific Plaza on Orchard Road, this Mr Holmes flagship will bring their renowned croissant-muffin hybrids, aka cruffins, alongside the other croissants, and doughnuts, that have brought them fame. To ensure that the pastries we get here are of the same high standards as those at the OG store in San Fran, Mr Holmes Bakehouse is flying in their pastry chefs to impart their skills to their local counterparts.

We are hoping they’ll bring us some of their most famous creations, like the Pineapple Upside Down Cruffin, which sees their signature cruffin filled cream that’s made with the tangy tropical fruit.

The Coffee Stout Croissant, a stunning pastry of brown sugar cake and stout beer cream, brushed with coffee syrup, and topped with a chocolate glaze, chocolate coffee crumbs, and three mini dark chocolate brownies, is another creation we hope makes it to the shelves here.

This flagship will be done up in a custom-designed signature scheme of pink and white, with their Insta-famous “I got baked”, and peace neon signages that are sure to flood locals’ IG feed. The open-seating space is also toted to have white-tiled walls, set against candy pink ceilings, sure to transport diners on sugary highs to a very happy place.

If waiting for a table at the cafe is not on the cards for you, the range of savoury, and sweet, baked treats will also be available for takeaway, together with the typical tea and coffee selections, and even kombucha. While we don’t have the exact opening date, we’ll be updating this post with more information when we have it.
