New menu at Mr Holmes Bakehouse

“New year, new me” appears to be Mr Holmes Bakehouse’s motto as they start the year with a complete menu overhaul. The revamped menu sees a seasonal collection of pastries, including their very first savoury cruffin. More additions are expected to come in March 2022.

Known as a pioneer of the cruffin—a croissant and muffin hybrid, Mr Holmes Bakehouse takes great care in hand-rolling their cruffins individually. The new Sundried Tomato and Bacon Jam ($7.50) rendition features a tangy tomato and chive cream cheese centre, topped with caramelised onions and bacon jam. This cruffin is also taller than the usual, and has bits of gruyere cheese incorporated within.

Check out the Everything Donut ($5.80), Mr Holmes Bakehouse’s spin on the everything bagel—a bagel generally topped with an assortment of seeds. The doughnut is made from brioche dough and filled with chive cream cheese, before it is finished with a Sriracha honey sauce and the obligatory black and white sesame seeds.

For a dessert option, opt for the Pistachio Mixed Berry Croissant ($6.50), baked twice for a crunchier bite. The house-made jam of strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries has a tinge of tartness that helps to cut through the buttery croissant.

Chocolate lovers should have the German Chocolate ($6.50) cruffin which promises rich chocolate infused with coffee within. Adorned with coconut shavings and pecan bits, the cruffin is Ferrero Rocher’s Raffaelo in pastry form.

If Mr Holmes Bakehouse’s menu is too overwhelming for you, take home their Monthly Box of Six ($35) to enjoy a selection of their most popular cruffins and doughnuts. Available only for the next two weekends, January’s box includes the PBJ Cruffin ($9.50), made in collaboration with the famed Park Bench Deli, as well as weekend-exclusive Mango Chilli Lime Donut ($5.80), at the price of $39.90. The Monthly Box is only available on weekends in store but orders for next-day delivery can also be made before 12pm.
