ION Orchard Hawker Street

The list of food options in ION Orchard could rival the Yellow Pages, but the list just got longer with the news that the mega-mall will be opening a Hawker Street, where six famous hawker brands will be under one roof. These names are Famous Eunos Bak Chor Mee, Nam Sing Hokkien Mee, Jian Bo Shui Kueh, King of Fried Rice, and Beach Road Scissors Cut Curry Rice.

Located at the basement, this new foodie haven expands the options of local food within ION Orchard.

The opening date has yet to be confirmed, and Eatbook SG has reached out to ION Orchard for confirmation on that front. As we aim to update this article with a confirmed date in due time, here’s what you can expect from the ION Orchard Hawker Street.

First, Famous Eunos Bak Chor Mee is said to be the OG bak chor mee stall in Singapore, inspiring famous BCM outlets like Bedok 85. While the stall has a legacy that is over a century-old, they have ramped up their business expansion model over the past year, opening in Chinatown Food Street and now this new Hawker Street.

Jian Bo Shui Kueh is another household name. The chwee kueh stall, which hails from Tiong Bahru, has been running since 1958, makes all their chwee kueh by hand till this day. Now, instead of travelling to Tiong Bahru, you can get your fix in town.

Nam Sing Hokkien Mee - Noodles

Nam Sing Hokkien Mee is one to get excited about too. Situated at Old Airport Road Food Centre, the stall has a legacy of drawing long queues for their hokkien mee, which has been finessed for over six decades.

Famous hawker delivery Beach Road Scissors-Cut Curry Rice

For fans of curry rice, Beach Road Scissors Cut Curry Rice is now an institution that is within reach, and you can get platefuls of their ugly delicious curry rice without having to travel to Jalan Besar.

Finally, there is King of Fried Rice. While they may not be a heritage hawker, this fried rice stall has grown tremendously since its flagship opening in Golden Mile Tower. Beloved for their pork chop fried rice, which is said to rival Din Tai Fung’s, you can now get their signature dish, as well as their mala and tom yum fried rice in town.
