As announced by the Ministry of Health (MOH), food courts, hawker centres, and coffee shops dine-in pax will be reduced to two pax starting from 19th July until 8th July. Initially, five people per group were allowed. According to the announcement, this is due to the fact that checking the status of individuals before seating themselves poses a challenge as the setting for these food and beverage establishments is less secured.
Is This Applicable For All F&B Establishments?
Yes, it is. However, there are some exceptions for five people per group, such as establishments that are able to put in place systems to check the status of individuals. Do take note that this is still not applicable for food courts, hawker centres, and coffee shops.
- Fully vaccinated individuals are allowed to dine in with five pax at establishments with systems to check the status of every individual. A person is considered fully vaccinated after two weeks of receiving the second dose of Pfizer, BioNTech/Comirnaty, or Moderna vaccine.
- Unvaccinated individuals with a valid negative pre-event test (PET) result in the past 24 hours. Additionally, it is also applicable for people who have recovered from Covid-19 in the last 270 days. According to MOH, they are lower risk.
- Last but not the least, children below the age of 12. Currently, they are not eligible to get the Covid-19 vaccine and are not required to undergo PET. Should the children be from different households, they must not make up more than half of the dine-in group.
F&B Establishments Must Take Note
Therefore, F&B establishments have the choice to introduce vaccination-differentiated group sizes depending on their own businesses. Same as previous rules and regulations, entertainment such as live performances, recorded music, videos, and television screening are still not allowed at the moment.
