Putu piring is one of the most loved traditional delicacy. If you don’t know much about putu piring, we got you! Although it has origins from India, it is notable to be a Malay dessert in Singapore. The steamed rice cake is made from rice flour encasing a filling. It is filled up with first-grade pure palm sugar. Haig Road Putu Piring is the go-to stall to munch on these. Just like many hawkers, it only specializes in one item. Over the years, it has become very famous, and even got recommendations from Michelin, and was featured Netflix’s Street Food. Currently, it has several outlets in Singapore, but it is fun to visit the main outlet at Haig Road Food Center.
