Tim Hortons opens in Singapore at VivoCity

If you’ve ever been to Canada or the United States, chances are you’d have come across a Tim Hortons cafe. The franchise, best known for their coffees and doughnuts, announced earlier this year that they’d open their very first Singapore outlet. Good news, they’re officially here, with the first Tim Hortons Singapore outpost located at VivoCity. Their official opening is on 17 November.

Tim Hortons hails from Ontario, Canada, and currently has 5,700 outlets around the world. They’re the number one coffee house in Canada, and is a great, casual spot to have coffee, a sweet treat, or to grab a quick bite.

Their Singapore outlet is located on the first floor of VivoCity—you won’t miss the sprawling doughnut counter calling your name. There are a fair few dine-in seats as well.

You’ll want to start off your visit with their flavoured lattes, of which there are a couple we’d recommend. The Maple Cinnamon Latte ($7) is great for this time of the year, bringing on the Christmas vibes with its subtle spiciness, and rounded sweetness from the legit maple flavour used.

Else, try the French Vanilla ($5.50), a creamy coffee that’s strong on the vanilla notes.

Singapore’s hot weather means a lot of us prefer our coffees iced, and Tim Hortons has our backs with their famed Ice Capps. These ice-blended cappuccinos are available in a handful of variations, but we suggest their Salted Caramel Macchiato Iced Capp ($7) if you’ve got a sweet tooth. Caramelly, and velvety thanks to the whipped cream, this is a caffeine boost that hits the spot on a warm day.

It’s worth noting that all their coffees are made with 100% premium, responsibly sourced Arabica beans.

Non-coffee drinkers will also be happy to know that they have a range of teas, including the refreshing Iced Peach Oolong ($6).

Pair these with their doughnuts, of which there are six flavours. These are dense and chewy doughnuts, with both filled and doughnut ring options. Prices start at $2.90 for their Classic  Glaze Donut, and go up to $4.50 for their more premium flavours.

The Maple Salted Caramel Donut ($3.50) is a must-try. Pillowy doughnut rings are glazed in salted caramel, bits of maple fondant atop. The Boston Cream ($3.50) is another unique option, glazed with dark chocolate and packed with a luscious custard cream.

Get six doughnuts for $20 if you’re planning to buy some for your loved ones—though only select flavours apply.

Tim Hortons is also known for their small Timbits, AKA bite-sized doughnuts priced from $1 to $1.50 each, or $10 for 10. You can get these here in flavours such as Classic Glaze, Cinnamon Sugar, and Birthday Cake

It’s also worth noting that the outlet has savoury Sourdough Melts made with artisanal bread. They’re all priced under $10 and great for a grab-and-go meal, alongside their coffees. They are also freshly made to order.

Our recommendations include the Maple Glazed Chicken Ham & Cheese Melt ($9.90), where the maple-glazed chicken adds a bit of sweetness, balanced by the tang of the mustard.

The Triple Cheese & Caramelised Onion Melt ($8.90) is another fave—the onions are cooked till sweet and tender, while the melted cheese brings on the savoury.

To celebrate their opening, Tim Hortons has a huge array of opening promos. First up, they’re giving away one regular Cafe Latte for free per week for six months, for the first 100 guests daily if you swing by the VivoCity outlet between 17 November to 19 November.

On opening day, 17 November, customers number 101 to 200 will receive exclusive branded merchandise as well. If you’re planning to dress up to their opening, 30 of the best-dressed folks in line will get a Tims Swag Box, with up to $80 worth of merch!

Also, good lobang must share: if you download the Tims App, you can get a free regular Cafe Latte too!
