Baristart Coffee opens Joo Chiat pop-up

Fans of Japanese coffeehouse Baristart Coffee can get excited as the brand is finally coming to the East, albeit for a limited time only. The brand will be opening a pop-up cafe at 467 Joo Chiat Road from 3 October to 12 October, bringing with them all their signature dishes, and a special pop-up menu.

We do not yet have any news on what the special menu will contain, but here’s the lowdown on Baristart Coffee overall so you have something to look forward to when visiting their new Eastside haunt. The Hokkaido-based cafe has two outlets in Singapore: one in Tras Street, which is temporarily closed, and another in Sentosa.

They have been around since 2015, and are famed for their use of Hokkaido milk across their menu. Specifically, the cafe uses BIEI Jersey Milk, a premium type of Hokkaido dairy that’s extra-creamy and lush, great in both hot and cold coffees.

The desserts on the menu are also classics. Baristart Coffee is best known for their cream puffs, sinfully loaded with Hokkaido milk cream. From time to time, the brand also releases limited edition flavours, from Milo to coconut pandan gula melaka. A Vanilla Cream Puff costs $7.

The cafe also has a savoury food menu, which includes trendy sandos and full-on brunch dishes, be it salads, big breakfasts, and the like. If you’re swinging by for lunch, they’ve also got donburi bowls and burgers.
