Specialising in Indian cuisine, Anglo Indian Cafe & Bar at CHIJMES, Shenton Way and Marina One offers a large collection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Those who seek gluten-free dishes will have their fill as well.

Expect a spectrum of Anglo-Indian cuisine – everything from stewed veggies to grilled and roasted meats and seafood.

Recommended vegetarian mains are the classic Dal Bukhara and Paneer Butter Masala.

Dal Bukhara is a rich, creamy, and aromatic slow-cooked black lentil dish. Over gentle heat, the legumes are cooked with garlic, ginger, tomato puree, butter, and Indian spices. Best eaten with bread to soak up the gravy.

Get the Paneer Butter Masala for oft cubes of paneer, a low-fat Indian cottage cheese, are simmered in a rich and creamy tomato and butter gravy. Slightly sweet with a tang, the gravy is packed with flavours herbs and spices.

When it comes to non-vegetarian dishes, Butter Chicken remains the most popular choice whether in or outside India. It fuses diced grilled chicken tikka with butter, cream, tomatoes, and mild spices. Eat it with rice, or pair with Indian breads.

If you prefer lamb, go for the Indian Railway Mutton Curry. A mildly spiced dish, this lamb curry has boneless chunks of meat slow cooked with a variety of Indian spices.

Beurre (beurre, French for butter) is a modern restaurant along Bukit Pasoh serving a blend of Asian and European flavours.

It is helmed by Executive Chef Darwin Wong, who presents his menu through a selection of sharing plates. Discover his style, which is more modern, as he innovatively combines the best flavours of the East and West.

But apart from Beurre’s standard menu, he also crafted a thoughtfully curated 4-course dinner set for the Kris+ Gastronomy Series.

You’ll begin the course with a Deep-Sea Crab Salad, and Spanish Mackerel with Uni Seaweed Sauce for starter.

Main entrée is a Challans Duck Breast served with true pate tatin, carrot cinnamon puree, and citrusy-sweet honey yuzu infused beurre blanc.

If you love to eat duck meat, you’ll find the Challan Duck tender without the gamey taste. Compared to other ducks, its meat texture is smoother, cooked delightfully succulent.

End on a sweet note with a serving of Mayer Lemon Creme Brûlée with Champagne Gelato.

Recognised as the one of the first in Singapore to serve French steak frites, Les Bouchon is the place to be for French-style steaks and bistro dining.

Since 2002, it has taken guests on a journey to Paris through its signature steaks, cooked upon request.

Les Bouchons is known for their trademark free flow of homemade French fries to go with the steak, plus a serving of mixed salad. A complete meal that pays homage to the great French tradition of steaks and fries.

For your main course, choose the big, juicy grilled Black Angus Ribeye Steak and regret not the indulgence. Perfect as is, the steak takes the next level with a luxurious dollop of Vigneron butter. The flavoured butter makes it more luscious and deepens the meat flavour.

Mimi is a swanky, contemporary Chinese restaurant settled on the upper floor of Riverhouse at Clarke Quay.

This 150-year-old mansion is one of the last two conserved Chinese mansions in Singapore, so it’s worth experiencing. Not only will it architecturally entice you but also intrigue your taste buds through the offerings at Mimi.

Menu at Mimi is predominantly traditional Chinese cuisine but peppered with modern takes to make it more memorable.

One dish to consider is Smoked Honey Glazed Cod, a delectable rendition of a very lean, white mild-flavoured fish. The smoking process adds a distinctive aroma while the honey glaze makes it savoury sweet.

The Roasted Sakura Chicken Ballotine is likewise recommended. Reared in a modernized farm minus the antibiotics and growth hormones, Sakura chickens are known for their more tender, juicier, and tastier meat. Roasted ballotine-style with stuffing, the chicken remains succulent, especially when enjoyed with the accompanying herbal jus.

A dining oasis at Jewel Changi Airport, Perch is an integrated casual wine-and-dine concept.

Executive chef Lee Boon Seng of The Spot Singapore created its Asian-European fusion menu, which also showcases familiar Southeast Asian flavours.

The special Duck Leg Confit as part of the Kris+ Gastronomy Series Menu is prepared using local ducks. An order comes nestled over an orange carrot mousse, a dollop of carrot tarragon foam and pickled mustard seed jus.

Need a quick bite like a light pasta? They have a seafood pasta worth trying – Tiger Prawn and Sakura Ebi Capellini. Its al dente angel hair pasta is light enough, yet flavours are not lacking with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, lemon, garlic, thyme, and bird’s eye chili. Served topped with fresh tiger prawns and shrimps.

If you’re more into tomato-based pastas, get the Capellini Marinara. It has cherry tomatoes, garlic, Kalamata olives, capers and EVOO.

Popular for its crab specialties, Red House is one of Singapore’s pioneers and trailblazers when it comes to seafood.

Their fresh and quality ingredients and different Chinese cooking techniques are key to their longevity.

The next time you sense a seafood craving, head out to Clarke Quay and revel in their Braised Australia Lobster with Superior Broth.

This labour-of-love dish takes more than 8 hours of braising the lobster with a party of fish, pork, chicken, and prawns. To make sure the lobster meat remains tender, it is flash fried for 5 minutes before it is braised in the flavourful umami broth. An order gives you half a lobster.
