Yeast Side at Farrer Park

If there’s one eatery at King Albert Park that’s widely loved, it’s Yeast Side, the cafe-bar that specialises in sourdough bakes. They’ve recently opened a second outlet at Farrer Park, bringing them closer to the yeast—sorry, east of Singapore.

As far as we can tell, the new cafe’s menu seems identical to its King Albert Park counterpart. There’s a diverse range of brunch options, available from 9am to 2pm each day, as well as coffee from 9am to 4pm. You can get craft beer in the hours after, along with various sourdough pizzas and light bites.

One of the more popular brunch options is the Banana Nut Butter Toast ($8++). A thick slice of sourdough toast is topped with banana slices, homemade almond and hazelnut butter, honey, and sea salt, giving the dish a sweet-savoury dimension that pairs well with a nice cup of coffee.

For something more savoury, go for the Mentaiko Mac & Cheese ($17++). The classic macaroni and cheese combination is made even more rich with the addition of mayo, mentaiko and crabstick bits.

Of the several sourdough pizzas on the night menu, the Jambalaya ($25++) has caught our eye. This za’ is inspired by the Cajun dish of the same name, and features a hand-stretched sourdough pizza base, mozzarella, housemade Cajun tomato sauce, prawns, chorizo slices, bell peppers, onions, and jalapeños.
