Uncle Lim’s Humble Stall At 194 Kim Keat Avenue
Uncle Lim has been working as a hawker assistant for more than twenty years before he had decided to open his own hawker stall. Tucked in Po Si Tan Eating House, there is not much foot traffic around the area. Why did he choose a location with little foot traffic? That’s simply because it is easier for him to move around, with the house and the hospital are near.
With that said, Uncle Lim only earns close to $20 per day before the shoutouts he had received from netizens. Uncle Lim spends his time in between operating the hawker stall, as well as going to his kidney dialysis three times per week. As he is not earning much, kidney dialysis is fully subsidized by the government. But, with help of netizens, it was mentioned that Uncle Lim is seeking a helper at his stall!
Uncle Lim’s stall has no name, but you can easily spot it with a bright yellow menu. The menu consists of Fried Kway Teow ($3 – $5), Carrot Cake ($3 – $5), Hokkien Noodle ($4/$6), and Fried Oyster ($5/$8). The bestselling dish by Uncle Lim is none other than Fried Oyster. Painstakingly cooking plate by plate, rest assured that every plate produced has standards.
