Tiong Bahru Bakery at Waterway Point

Tiong Bahru Bakery’s reach continues to grow as the brand is poised to open its 10th outlet at Waterway Point. The Punggol mall is no stranger to popular bakeries, with Cedele and Tai Cheong among its ranks, so North-Easters will be even more spoiled for choice when the Tiong Bahru Bakery opens sometime in September.
For those who don’t already know, Tiong Bahru Bakery is known for their croissants, tarts, brioche buns, decadent cakes and more. There are usually savoury bakes and dishes on the menu, too.
If it’s your first time at Tiong Bahru Bakery, make the Croissant ($4+) the first thing you order. This crispy and flaky pastry is made with a generous amount of butter, giving it a creamy and slightly savoury characteristic.

Their Kouign Amann (from $5.50+) is typically excellent, too. This dense and sweet pastry comes in four different flavours: Original, Chocolate, Apple, and most interestingly, Bak Kwa.
Should this be available at the outlet, we also recommend the refreshing Exotic Cheesecake ($9+). This unique cheesecake is constructed with a coconut-infused cookie base, lime and vanilla cream cheese mousse, coconut sponge, and finished with a coconut and lime chantilly.
For something a little different to the usual Tiong Bahru Bakery experience, there’s also the Tiong Bahru Bakery Diner, which has a slightly more upscale vibe to the others, and the Tiong Bahru Bakery Safari, which is a fascinating glamping-themed cafe.
