Black Prawn Noodles Served At Bukit Batok
Did you know that Chin Choon is actually from the same family as Lai Heng Prawn Noodle at Teck Whye? Chin Choon uses the same old recipe as Lai Heng that has been operating since 1956! This ensures you get the traditional and delicious taste in your prawn noodles at Chin Choon’s!
Chin Choon used to operate back at Bukit Panjang before closing their shop for a few years. Looks like its a good thing they decided to open up again! They serve a Malaysian style of prawn noodles that you don’t usually find in Singapore, making the dish really unique! Definitely worth giving it a try!
The prawn noodles ($4), has a mixture of light and dark soy sauce that resembles the soy sauce noodles colour. The dish comes packed with ingredients such as prawns, pork slices and fishcake. The noodles are al dante and springy, with every strand of the noodles being coated in the black sauce. This ensures a mouthful of flavour in every bite! The prawns are cooked perfectly and still retains the bouncy texture. For those who love their innards, you can opt for addons such as small intestines, pig’s tail, liver and kidney.

Customers can also opt for the soup version although the dry version is highly recommended. As you can hardly find such a unique bowl of prawn noodles, Chin Choon is a stall that you should definitely check out! Do note that they close at 3pm so while you can’t have this for dinner, you can head down for a scrumptious breakfast or lunch! Hurry down now!
