The White Label is known for its brunch dishes, pastries and many more delicious meals! But not many knew the hardship and uphill battle they had to face! As mentioned before, they were in the heart of Singapore’s food community. To be more specific, almost every big name in the food industry has ties to Bugis- Arab Street. Yet they continue to thrive, serving a unique French-style cuisine, with a mix of Asian flavours. They even survive two years of the pandemic, whereas many others have unfortunately not.

This restaurant is elegant. The marble tabletops, the emerald green furniture, the golden silverware and of course the brick counter at the front! Its beauty is simple and pleasing to the eye. The placement of the tables, as well as the colour scheme, makes the interior more open feel. Even the lighting is abstract and gorgeous! This restaurant was made with love, down to the nail on the floorboards.
Classical French Dishes

Let’s start with the starter. The Lobster Bisque with garlic bread ($14.00) is a crowd favourite. The soup is also paired with garlic bread. The soup itself is heady and rich. You can taste the lobster flavour in the dish! The soup is unbelievably creamy and sweet from the lobster! Pair with the crusty and garlicky bread, and you have yourself the best dish to whet your appetite!

Their Cherrywood Smoked Contre-Filet ($34.00) is a showstopper! When served, you are given a plate with a giant dome filled with smoke. The server then reveals to you a cloud of smoke. A smoky-sweet scent of Cherrywood fills your nose! The steak is juicy and tender- perfectly seasoned. The Pomme Puree was luscious and buttery and the sauces help balanced the dish out! This is the epitome of dinner and a show.

At last, their pièce de résistance- Squid Ink Spaghetti ($26.00). While this dish has been a trend as of late, The White Label has added its twist to it. Not only do they use Squid Ink pasta, but they also incorporated a traditional Malay seafood dish called “Sotong Masak Hitam”. Combining the strong, seafood forward Sotong Masak Hitam with the more rich flavours of Squid Ink Pasta, you got yourself a match made in heaven! Although, we caution you that this dish can be very spicy!
