Located at Pasir Ris Central Hawker Centre, Flying Dragon Noodles is a newly-opened eatery that specialises in noodles and fried rice! Despite being a new store, they already have people queueing every second and a fanbase – all because of their unique take on crispy noodles! But what’s so special about it?

Unlike usual crispy noodles, Flying Dragon Noodles deep fry their crispy noodles in a way that will form a floating effect! This is created by having noodles wrapped around a pair of chopsticks, placed in a frying strainer, then deep fried in piping hot oil!

A popular option is the Prawn’s, Lala and Floating Noodles with Chilli Crab Sauce. At $9, the portion is quite decent. There is quite a few Lala’s hidden below the noodles too!

The lala and prawns served are extremely fresh and perfectly cooked too! Though the prawns are not very huge, they are still extremely juicy to bite into! There was a sweet after-taste as well.

The chilli crab sauce is on the sweeter side – quite unlike our usual chilli crab sauce that is sweet and spicy! There was not much of a spice sensation going on and there is more of a balance between sweet and savoury in terms of flavours! Though the sauce was missing our usual chilli crab sauce flavour, the sauce is still delicious on its own!

The star of this dish is the crispy noodles. You may think that it is perhaps just like your usual crispy noodles, however you’re wrong! Their crispy noodles had a bite into it and were not too hard to chew on. Some crispy noodles tend to be still tough despite soaking it in gravy or its sauce, however these noodles were easy to bite into despite them not soaked in the gravy immediately upon being served!
