Some of Kura’s signature bakes include the La Vie En Rose Tart, Honey Passion Sake, Strawberry Pink Guava Cheese Cake, and Mango Citrus. If you’re looking for something more on the savoury side, there are also dishes available after 11am such as Japanese Beef Curry Toast, Miso Roasted Chicken Toast, and Portobello Cheese Foccacia. Besides their popular tarts, there are also sweet and savoury viennoiseries on display like the Honey Butter Kouign Amann and your classic Croissants.
Genmaicha Tart ($12)- Seasonal Special

For those who have never tried Genmaicha before, it is a fusion of green tea and roasted brown rice. If you don’t particularly enjoy matcha due to its strong flavour, this is definitely a good alternative. The crust of the tart is buttery and firm, giving it a pleasant bite. There is also a layer of sponge cake in the middle, adding a good contrast of textures.

As for the cream, it has a strong and amazing Genmaicha flavour that is incredibly unique, with hints of roasted notes with each bite. Additionally, there are three adorable little cubes of Genmaicha ganache on top adding creaminess to the tart. As a seasonal special, Kura has mentioned that it will only be available for the next one to two months so hurry down and try it!
La Vie En Rose Tart ($12)

One of their best-sellers, the stunning La Vie En Rose Tart features a decadent dark chocolate cream that is balanced beautifully with a layer of sea salt chocolate. As the sea salt chocolate contains caramel, it gives a taste similar to butterscotch which gives an interesting contrast to dark chocolate.

For texture, the crust is similar to the Genmaicha tart, with the cacao nibs adding a nice layer of crunch. Although dark chocolate tends to lie more on the bitter side, the flavours of the tart are really well-balanced, making it enjoyable even for those with sweet tooths!
Key Lime Tart ($8.50)

For those who enjoy sour flavours, the Key Lime Tart is certainly worth giving a try. The base is buttery and flaky, with a delightful tartness from the layer of key lime curd and torched meringue. The key lime curd gives a good kick of sourness while the meringue balances it perfectly with its sweetness. If you’re looking for a slightly different flavour profile from your typical sweet desserts, this is definitely a good alternative as well!
