This dish is available at most Malay stalls and restaurants in Singapore! However, very few are considered the best. At Makan Food Stall, you will find one of Singapore’s best Lontong Sayur Lodeh!

Sembawang Hills Food Centre is lacking in terms of Malay food, let alone Halal food. Luckily, Makan Food Stall is there to pick up the slack with quality food and great service! The aunties working there were wholesome and welcoming, giving you healthy portions of delicious Malay food. It is no wonder they have been there for as long as they have!

They start their day as early as 5am. The Lodeh takes a while to fully cook and prepare for the day. Each vegetable is nicely cooked whilst not too mushy. The detail required is surprising! Preparing the Lontong is not easy feet either. They have water boiling constantly to cook up a fresh batch. They also prepare the add-on like the egg, Serunding and Sambal early in the morning as well!

Their Lontong Sayur Lodeh ($4.00) is unbelievably creamy! The coconut flavour of the Lodeh is bright and captivating and is enhanced by the Sambal. The Lontong is tender and also soaks in the broth amazingly. The vegetables also absorbed the broth flavour and still had a crunch. This dish is both flavourful and had a lot of different textures!
