46 Mittsu Review: Thick Japanese-Inspired Sandwiches That Can Rival Sando, Korio And Two Men Bagel
Located in CT Hub 2, a mere three-minute walk from Bendeemeer MRT Station, MenboLah specialises in Korean-style menbosha. Here’s some background if you’re unfamiliar with the snack: menbosha has Cantonese influences, with its name originating from “mian bao”, which means bread, and “xia”, which refers to prawn in Mandarin. Hence, it’s pronounced rather similarly in Korean—”menbosha”.

On the MenboLah website, you can choose from a wide array of toasts, from the classic shrimp-filled menbosha to French toast sandwiches. Here, they serve bite-sized MenboBites, perfect for sharing. The Original Menbosha ($11.90) gets you a box of nine mini-sized pieces of fried bread stuffed with succulent prawn fillings. Mentaiko fans can also try the Mentaiko Menbosha ($12.90), which comes topped with torched mentai sauce for a creamy and savoury flavour.
If you’re still feeling peckish, fill up with the Nacho Cheese Chicken Cutlet Garlic Toast ($7.90), a hearty sandwich featuring a juicy fried chicken cutlet, cheddar, and Korean veggie patty, snugly wrapped between two garlic toasts. The sando is finished with a generous drizzle of nacho cheese for that IG-worthy shot!
