If you’re a fan of fish soup, but have yet to try Zion Road Blk 91 An Shun Fish Soup, take this as your sign to give it a shot. Despite having Zion Road in its name, this famous stall is currently located in Hougang, after having shifted around a few times. According to its patrons, however, the stall is still as good as ever.

There are a number of fish soup options at the stall, but one of the most popular has to be the Fried Fish Bee Hoon (from $6). The fried fish is said to be wonderfully crispy and fresh, and it tastes even better when dipped into the milky and aromatic broth. You’ll enjoy slurping up the silky bee hoon noodles that absorb all the flavour of the soup as well.

For those who prefer non-fried fish, the Sliced Fish Soup (from $6) is right up your alley. Should you get this without milk, you’ll get to savour the fresh fish slices and clear, umami broth. There’s also an option to get the Fried + Sliced Fish Soup (from $7), which gets you the best of both worlds.

The Seafood Soup (from $6) also comes highly recommended. Aside from sliced fish, you also get prawns, fish maw, and more.

Despite the stall’s relatively hidden location, it still draws long queues each day, so you may have to wait a little to get your bowl of fish soup. If the acclaim is anything to go by, however, it’s certainly worth the wait.
