Soylicious in Bukit Timah Food Centre has beancurd with taro balls
Many of us can agree when we say taro desserts are truly next level—just take a look at Shang Pin Hot Pot’s XL taro mochi cup, and Do Qoo with Taiwanese jelly desserts with taro balls. Another strong contender has made their entrance, and it’s a hawker stall by the name of Soylicious at Bukit Timah Food Centre!

For something simple, you can get a bowl of their house-made Beancurd at $1.20, or Beancurd with Gingko at just $2. Otherwise, we recommend adding toppings to elevate your dessert bowl: you can choose between the Mini Taro Q ($0.80) and Taro Q Balls ($0.80).

Their Taro Q Balls are huge and vibrant, and if you’re lucky enough, you might even get to try their limited flavours such as matcha. Currently, they only offer sweet potato and orh nee balls!

There’s also the Beancurd with Riceball ($2), which is essentially a bed of beancurd topped with three pieces of tang yuan that come in either peanut or black sesame filling.

Many online reviews point to the fact that the rice balls are soft and chewy, with some thoroughly impressed by how substantially filled each tang yuan is.

If you’re a fan of pearls in your dessert bowls, we encourage you to get The Big 3 ($3.30). The three main ingredients include tapioca pearls, tangyuan, and taro balls. And of course, you can expect beancurd underneath all these toppings.
Besides beancurd, Soylicious offers a range of desserts and drinks: Riceball Red Bean Soup ($2), Chendol Soya Milk ($1.50), Sweet Potato with Ginger Soup ($2), Nata Grass Jelly ($2) and more!
