When you think of Oyster Cakes, what places come to mind? One popular stall is definitely Fu Zhou Poh Hwa at Berseh Food Centre! There are very few stalls left in Singapore still serving this delicious treat, making it a rare gem to find. To help you with that, here’s another stall to introduce! Tucked away at Bedok lies Fu Zhou Oyster Cake, where they have been serving the scrumptious snack for the last 39 years!
Delicious Oyster Cake At Bedok
Tucked away at Fengshan Hawker Centre lies Fu Zhou Oyster Cake where they have been serving up delicious oyster cakes since 1982! Specialising only in one item, they have certainly mastered their craft. The stall continues to draw a loyal following of customers to this day. With Oyster Cake being a traditional delicacy and having only a few stalls in Singapore serving them, this is a definite must-try!
The Oyster Cake is deep-fried on the spot, ensuring you get it hot and freshly made. The skin is super crispy and is moist on the inside. Additionally, it’s not too oily, allowing you to enjoy the delicious snack guilt-free! What’s unique about this stall is that you can choose from a wide variety of ingredients in unique combinations! Some of the combinations include scallop and pork, salmon and pork, and seafood special.
For those who enjoy the traditional Oyster Cake, you can opt for the Original ($3.50), or the Oyster and Pork ($3.50). The Oyster Cake comes with a generous amount of ingredients, ensuring you’re not just having fried batter. A very important criterion of a good Oyster Cake! Additionally, peanuts and ikan bilis are topped off for that extra satisfying crunch and umami. Do be sure to have it with the chilli sauce as it complements the Oyster Cake perfectly and has a sweet aftertaste!
