Sweetish Dessert 有点甜 is yet another pretty-in-pink dessert café in Singapore, conveniently located at Parklane Shopping Mall at Selegie – a short walking distance from Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station.
Talk about instagrammable dessert places in Singapore, and Smile Dessert 酒窝甜品 (Bugis) and Sweet Hut 甜秘密 (Geylang) may come to mind, offering an ideal spot for cafe hoppers to take the perfect #OOTD.
Sweetish Dessert has a smaller space that accommodates 6 tables.
Painted in pink and equipped with neon lights, several aesthetic corners can be found such as their mini swing, birdcage chairs and many unicorn plushies in store.
With over 70 items on their menu, diners can look forward to hipster desserts such as Souffle Pancakes ($15.90), Milk Tea “Hot” Pot and Mian Mian Ice ($6 – $6.50). The former two were unfortunately not available during my visit.
Other traditional desserts include Chendol ($3.80 – $4.50), Durian desserts ($5.50 – $6), Double Skin Milk Series ($3 – $3.80), Taro Ball Series ($4.30 – $4.80), Sago Series ($4.80 – $5.50) and Shaved Ice Series ($5.50).
One of their signature items is their Mian Mian Ice, available in 6 different flavours: Mango ($6), Strawberry ($6), Red Bean ($6), Purple Potato ($6), Mixed Fruits ($6.50) and Durian ($6.50).
The Strawberry Mian Mian Ice ($6) came with soft and fluffy Taiwanese ice shavings, drizzled with strawberry syrup, a scoop of strawberry ice cream, strawberry popping pearls and fresh strawberries.
The shaved ice was light, airy and not icy, without being overly sweet, complemented by the citrus-ness from the strawberries.
The popping pearls added a firmer textures to the combination, giving it a fun and interesting twist.
Another highlight is their Sago Series that comes in various toppings.
These include Mango Sago with Pomelo ($4.80), Mango Sago with Coconut Milk ($5.30), Yam Sago with Coconut Milk ($5.50), Durian Sago with Coconut Milk ($5.50) and Mango Sago & Chewy Ball with Coconut Milk ($5.50).
The Mango Sago & Chewy Ball with Coconut Milk ($5.50) was smooth, fruity and refreshing, while the balls were of the right textures without being too hard to chew.
As there was only one staff working at Sweetish Dessert during my visit, be prepared to wait a little longer.
