Shake Shake In A Tub at 111 Somerset
You’re likely to have seen Shake Shake In A Tub’s many kiosks scattered throughout our local malls; better yet, you may be a fan of their colourful range of fried finger food. This month, the brand opened a flagship stall in 111 Somerset, so you can now enjoy their fried chicken and fries in a vibrant cafe setting.
The brand’s recognisable colour palette—yellow, pink, and white—adorns the cafe’s interior, giving it the appearance of a technicolor film set. It may look garish to some, but we think it suits the quirky food well.
Take the whimsical Fries-Go-Round Set ($15.90), for instance. Five types of finger food are placed in a miniature ferris wheel for your amusement: shoestring fries, curly fries, criss-cut fries, tater tots, and onion rings. These can be flavoured in eight different ways, so take your pick—for starters, we recommend the truffle and mala flavour.
Another eye-catching dish is Say Cheese! Fondue ($21.90), which feeds about two to four people. The savoury cheese fondue paired well with the popcorn chicken and shoestring fries, and the possibility of a cheese pull means this is perfect for the ‘gram.
Shake Shake In A Tub is still primarily known for their fried chicken and fries, so themed sets such as the Triple Truffle Fried Chicken Set ($19.90) comes highly recommended. The truffle-spiked set includes truffle fries, chicken and onion rings, with the latter two meant to go with Shake Shake’s popular truffle sauce.
The “DAEBAK” Korean Fried Chicken Set ($21.90) is another themed set worth checking out. With spicy chicken, seaweed fries, corn dogs, and kimchi, these dishes will appeal to Korean cuisine stans.
