Shake Shack collaborates with Michelin-starred Candlenut
Cult favourite fast food chain Shake Shack is back at it again, with yet another hot new launch rolling out on 5 November 2022, made in collaboration with Michelin-starred restaurant, Candlenut! Available from 11am until stocks run out, fans can look forward to trying the all-new Buah Keluak Burger ($13) and Curry Fries ($5.90).
This new menu is the brainchild of Chef Malcolm Lee, the man behind the acclaimed Peranakan restaurant Candlenut. Both items will be on the menu of Shake Shack Neil Road for one day only, so make sure you head down earlier to try them.
Get the whole shebang: Buah Keulak Burger, Curry Fries, and Fresh Lemonade ($4.30) to wash it all down.
The chunky burger features Shake Shack’s signature 100% Angus beef patty, slathered with a punchy buah keluak glaze and an aromatic chicken curry sauce. A fried egg, melted cheese, tangy pickles, and sambal ikan bilis join in the mix, along with finely shredded cucumber for a refreshing bite. You get the deep and earthy buah keluak flavour—an acquired taste for some—balanced with the fragrant, lemak curry.
Everything is held together by lightly toasted buns. The burger is a sloppy mess thanks to the liberal smear of sauces, but when eaten all at once, it’s the exact definition of “ugly delicious”.
Pair your sandwich with a side of Curry Fries, a simple snack of crinkle-cut fries dusted with curry powder and salt.
In related fast food news, Shake Shack has recently opened its first outlet in Bishan J8! Try the outlet-exclusive Who 8 My Cookie? (price TBD), a Frozen Custard featuring caramelised cookies and chocolate chunks from local bean-to-bar chocolatier, Lemuel. Otherwise, try the Dark Meat Hot Chicken Burger, a deep-fried chicken thigh burger that was launched earlier this year.
