PRAIRIE by Craftsmen must be one of the fastest cafes to expand this year.
Having just opened their first outlet at Cluny Court Bukit Timah in January, the brand has opened their second outlet at River Valley in April, and a third outlet in Joo Chiat in July.
The #EastCoastPlan continues to expand, including recent openings of botanical-themed Tigerlily Patisserie, Melbourne-inspired Little Rogue Coffee, Common Man Coffee Roasters and Mad Roaster.
Located directly opposite C Cafe, right beside Sinpopo Brand at Katong, the 40-seaters space is divided into a pet-friendly alfresco dining space and an air-conditioned non-pets zone inside.
With a different colour scheme in mind, Prairie at Cluny Court is decked in green due to its close proximity to Singapore Botanic Gardens, dusty pink at River Valley and an ocean blue theme here since it’s near to East Coast Park.
The word “Prairie” refers to a type of habitat mostly occupied by grasses and flowering plants with occasional shrubs and trees, evidently shown in different corners of the space.
Note that during the soft opening period, the café will serve a limited menu of pastries, cakes and drinks from 26 July to 29 July.
Expect All-Day Breakfast to start from 30 July which includes Avocado Toast ($14), Acai Bowl ($14), Rustic Mushroom ($17), Bacon & Sausage ($18), Prairie Breakfast ($20), and 2 outlet-exclusive items: Spam & Cheese Bagel ($17) and Smoked Salmon Rosti ($19).
The full menu will only be launched on 6 August with lunch item starting from 12pm onwards.
These include Salads ($19 – $20), Chicken Stew ($24), Beef Stew ($28), Pasta ($21 – $28) and Burgers ($25).
Another 2 new items can be expected only at this outlet, namely Randoori Pork Rib ($32) and Red Pesto Pasta ($21).
Coffee is supplied by Craftsmen Specialty Coffee, so you can expect interesting flavours such as Roasted Almond Latte ($7), Butterscotch Latte ($7), Macadamia Nut Latte ($7), Salted Caramel Latte ($7), Coconut Latte ($7), Gula Melaka Latte ($8) and Baileys Latte ($11).
Though I generally found the drinks a dollar or two more expensive that the average ones around.
Non-espresso based drinks include Chai Latte ($7), Black Sesame Soy Latte ($8), Matcha Latte ($8), Taro Latte ($7), Smoothies ($8 – $10), Freshly-Pressed Juices ($7 – $9).
With a pet-friendly alfresco dining space, diners can dine with their pets, the latter do not count towards the maximum dine-in capacity and a requirement for a vaccination passport.
