Oh my, Oh My Mango, the very first outlet which I had visited in 2017 at Gek Poh Shopping Centre in Jurong West has opened their newest outlet at JCube.
Wait, is the new outlet also in the West?
With 2 other outlets at Yew Tee Square and Sunshine Place (not Sunshine Plaza or Sun Plaza) in Choa Chu Kang, their outlets are mostly located in the West and North-West part of Singapore.
Their new outlet is located right next to the ice skating rink at Level 3 of JCube, decked in pink that can accommodate up to 8 tables.
Ample sunlight can be seen pouring in through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows, with a bird eye view of the surroundings.
Oh My Mango has transformed over the years, from being mango-centric to more diverse options.
A good selection of savoury and sweets can be found, such as Tom Yum Pizza ($9.90) and Hot Toast ($6.90) for savoury and a selection of Bingsu ($11.90 – $14.90) and Shibuya Toast ($8.90 – $11.90) for the sweets.
Mango lovers can check out the Mango Sticky Rice ($6), Mango Sticky Rice Ice Cream ($11.90), Mango Sticky Rice Toast ($12.90), Mango Bingsu ($13.90) and Mango Coco Duo Bingsu ($14.90).
There’s an even bigger selection of Mango drinks: Mango Sparkling ($4.90), Mango Float ($4.90), Mango Yogurt ($4.90), Mango Freeze ($4.90), Mango Latte Burster ($4.90), Mango Sticky Rice Frappe and Mango Brown Sugar ($5.50).
Reliving my memories of Bangkok, I had the Mango Coco Duo Bingsu ($14.90) that comes with almond flakes, baby coconut flesh, mango cubes on top of shaved ice with mango pearls within.
The bingsu was soft, fine, delicate and fluffy, and can be further sweetened with the mini milk jar served alongside.
There was a nice contrast in textures between the soft mango, chewy coconut flesh and crunchy almond flakes.
This reminds me of the various bingsu I had in Korea, perhaps it’s time for a revisit with the upcoming VTL (Vaccinated Travel Lane) next month.
A good selection of drinks with over 40 options can be found on the menu, from Mango Series to Strawberry, Blueberry, Coffee and Tea.
Being a Thai-centric cafe, they offer a good selection of Thai drinks such as Thai Milk Tea (Regular $3, Large $4), Thai Green Milk Tea (Regular $3, Large $4), Nom Yen Pink Milk ($3) and Thai Milk tea Cube Set ($6.90).
The Nom Yen Pink Milk ($3) is something less commonly found here, a Thai pink milk made from Sala syrup.
It is sweet and tasted more like a strawberry milkshake instead of the Bandung (rose syrup milk) that we are familiar with.
I couldn’t give their Thai Milk Tea a miss (since it’s a Thai dessert cafe, right?
The Thai Milk Tea Toast ($10.90) came with a scoop of Thai milk tea ice cream, sprinkled with sliced almonds and cookie crumbles, drizzled with Thai Milk tea sauce on top.
While the toast may be soft and fluffy on the inside with a generous amount of salted butter, the toast lacks some crispiness on the outside.
The Thai milk tea sauce and ice cream could do with a stronger hint of flavour as it was overwhelmed by the sheer amount of salted butter in it.
With a good view, instagram-worth backdrop for OOTD and a good selection of desserts, Oh My Mango will be a good spot for a quick Thai fix.
