Laksa Delight Burger at McDonald’s
National Day is just around the corner, and you know what that means—a new limited-time McDonald’s burger inspired by one of our local dishes. While last year saw the emergence of the Hainanese Chicken Burger, obviously modelled after our Hainanese chicken rice, the fast food chain appears to have set their sights on a noodle dish this year: laksa.

While no official announcement has been made by McDonald’s yet, Facebook page Singapore Atrium Sale and other netizens have spotted posters of the soon to be released Laksa Delight Burger. We don’t know exactly when the burger will be made available, but given that National Day is just two weeks away, it should drop anytime soon.

According to the poster, the Laksa Delight Burger will feature a crispy prawn patty. Those who remember the Roasted Sesame Ebi Burger might expect something similar this time around. There’s also what looks to be lettuce, a sunny side-up egg, purple cabbage, and toasted butter buns. The most novel element, however, is surely the creamy laksa sauce. Let’s hope it lives up to the iconic noodle dish, with its rich coconut taste and spicy kick.
Last year’s Hainanese Chicken Burger was, according to many, reminiscent of chicken rice, so fans of laksa can look forward to this year’s National Day exclusive being similarly faithful to the original dish. The chicken burger was released alongside the Kopi Frappe, a twist on our nation’s favourite breakfast beverage—one might assume that drinks and side dishes themed around our food culture will be released alongside the Laksa Delight Burger, too. McDonald’s, we’re watching with great interest!
