LUNA Diner+Bar offering brunch, mains, pasta and desserts has opened at The Grandstand, Turf Club Road.

This is not to be confused with LUNA patisserie at Amoy Street, the latter known for their mouth-watering cakes, tarts and pastries.

The former is opened by Little House of Dreams, initially located at Dempsey before shifting to Tiong Bahru. It has also just closed the TB outlet.

With 2 different concepts under the same roof, LUNA Diner+Bar focuses more on their food and drinks; whereas Little House of Dreams will bring back their signature cakes come October 2021.

At a glance, you may not see the resemblance, as their interior has shifted from a pink floral fantasy to a botanical Balinese vibe.

With both indoors and alfresco dining areas, 10 tables can be found indoors whereas the pet-friendly outdoor area can accommodate another 8 tables.

The brunch menu starts from 9am till 2pm daily whereas the remaining menu starts at 12pm.

A selection of hearty brunch food can be found, namely LUNA House Breakfast ($22.90), Signature Smashed Avocado on Sourdough ($7.90 – $14.90), Bagel Eggs Benny ($12.90), Egg & Ham Croissant ($12.90)), Homemade Buttermilk Pancakes ($15.90) and LUNA Feel Good Bowls ($10.90 – $13.90).

After 12pm, their menu will expand to Soup & Salad ($6.90 – $9.90), Snack ($8.90 – $10.90), Sandwich ($10.90), Burger ($12.90 – $14.90), Waffles ($12.90 – $13.90), Donburi ($15.90 – $20.90), Pasta ($8.90 – $15.90) and Grilled Mains ($14.90 – $39.90).

I had the Chicken Katsu Sando ($10.90) that came with slices of chicken breast meat deep fried to a golden-brown crispy texture.

Probably one of the prettiest Sando I have come across of late in Singapore, lemon cabbage was added to give it a nice refreshing crunch whereas the spring onions with Furikake mayo (Japanese rice seasoning) giving a savory touch.

The brioche toast was also slightly grilled before serving for some smokiness.

One suggestion is to trim off the bread crust to make the dish more refined, as the edges were a tad thick and dry.

Their dessert menu was pretty limited then with only Signature Buttermilk Waffles ($10.90) and Warm Chocolate Lava Cake ($6.90).

Specialty coffee is also served here: Single Espresso ($3.90), Affogato ($7.90), Long Black ($4.90), Cappucino/ Latte ($5.90) and Hazelnut/ Caramel/ Vanilla Latte ($7.90).

I decided to go with a cup of Matcha Latte ($6.90) served with a piece of chocolate cookie.

The Matcha Latte was smooth and robust, well-balanced by the sweetness from the fresh milk, whereas dipping the chocolate cookie added a fun element.

As the alfresco dining patio area is pets-friendly, paw parents and furkids now have one additional place to explore together.
