Here’s what you can expect:
Nagano Pork Belly with Yuzu Tomato Broth Noodle ($13.90, U.P.$15.90)
This seasonal noodle bowl is something I enjoyed because it reminded me of Hong Kong’s comforting tomato noodles, but with an added citrusy flavour.
What you get is a soupy bowl of refreshing tangy tomato soup base with a touch of yuzu-tart at the end. It is very kai wei 开胃 that would whet your appetite.
There is also a spoonful of tomato puree included, which would enhance the thickness and sweetness as you mix that in.
Between the pork and beef bowls, I thought that the pork belly slices paired better with the tomato base. Also Nagano Pork Belly is used, known for its refined taste (without the strong ‘porkiness’) and exceptional tenderness.
Marbled Beef with Yuzu Tomato Broth Noodle ($10.90, U.P.$11.90)
With melt-in-your-mouth sliced marbled beef with thin, springy strands of noodles.
Fragrant Pork Chop with Yuzu Tomato Dry Noodle ($9.90, U.P.$10.90)
This is a dry version, in which al dente ribbons of noodles are tossed with the special housemade sauce, tomato puree, yuzu juice and more.
Paired on the side are deboned strips of pork chops marinated in Chinese five-spice powder, deep-fried to a crispy golden-brown finish.
Braised Beef Combination Noodles
For other LeNu signature choices, get the warm and hearty bowl of Braised Beef Combination Noodles cooked with rich beef stock that took 18 hours of preparation with blend of Chinese spices.
Also included are beef slices, shank and tendon that were meltingly-tender.
Spicy Japanese Scallop Dry Noodle
Another popular choice is the Spicy Japanese Scallop Dry Noodle, tossed in a specially created sauce. I would recommend topping up for a bowl of pork bone soup rich in collagen.
