The homegrown fried rice chain rapidly expanded last year, with its latest branch located in the coffeeshop of Block 431 Clementi Ave 3, which is a mere six-minute walk from the MRT Station.

King of Fried Rice made waves for its affordable Din Tai Fung-style fried rice when it started out as a humble eatery in the basement of Golden Mile Tower. Today, you’ll find a whopping total of 20 outlets across the island, including Bishan and Bukit Batok.

Those new to the chain can try their most popular dish, the Egg Fried Rice With Pork Cutlet, affordably priced at $6.50. The fried rice is said to boast a decent level of wok hei, while the accompanying pork slices are tender with a peppery fragrance.
If you like seafood, go for the Egg Fried Rice With Crabmeat and Tobiko ($10) or Egg Fried Rice With Shrimp ($6.50).

Alternatively, order the Tom Yum Fried Rice ($7.50) if you’re in the mood for something slightly tangy. You can also zhng up your meal by requesting for toppings such as tobiko ($1)! Don’t forget to add a dollop of their house-made chilli oil to your fried rice for that ultimate combination of spicy and savoury.
