HUE x MAMA pop-up runs till 14 January 2024 in Jalan Besar
If you’re a stan of the famous Thai instant noodle brand MAMA, you’ll have to check out this upcoming launch. HUE x MAMA is a new pop-up that runs from 12 December 2023 to 14 January 2024, at Thai fusion restaurant bar HUE!
This is the popular Thai instant noodle brand’s first-ever pop-up in Asia, so there’s plenty to look forward to.
First, the cosy restaurant is dolled up in cute artwork, and plushies that are all MAMA-themed.

There’s even a life-sized MAMA cup noodle banner to welcome you into the restaurant!
Food-wise, there’s a specially curated menu comprising seven savoury dishes, two sides and five mains, all made with MAMA noodles. Start with the MAMA Lup Cheong ($15++): original MAMA noodles tossed in an appetisingly sweet, sour, and spicy sauce, topped with Chinese dried sausage and fried egg shreds.
Alternatively, go for the MAMA Meatball Larb ($13++), a meat-based salad spotlighting HUE’s signature larb sauce. We found this starter a tad too salty, though it shouldn’t be an issue if you’re sharing among friends.
For a taste that’s unequivocally Thai, try the MAMA Crispy Pork Basil ($18++). Made with the original MAMA noodles, this Thai basil pork-inspired dish comes with lashings of crispy pork belly and lard.
Another signature dish is the MAMA Tom Yum ($22++), which spotlights the instant noodle brand’s most famous flavour.
Here, the noodles are zhnged up with pork meatballs, fresh tiger prawns, crispy pork belly, and Maepranom Thai chilli paste, which is an essential component in tom yum soup. HUE’s rendition is creamy and sweet, with a spicy kick that’s perfumed with lime.
Alternatively, go for the MAMA Beef ($22++) if you prefer red meat to seafood. This atas version of beef noodles sees a rich and robust broth over springy OK Oriental Kitchen Noodles—MAMA’s premium noodle series that’s thicker and more QQ.
You also get marinated beef slices that are char-grilled to medium-rare perfection.
Else, you can also try their OK Oriental Kitchen Noodles in the form of MAMA Soft-Shell Prawn Truffle ($22++), a truffle-based noodle dish that’s served with deep-fried prawns and a generous scoop of tobiko for added umami.
Lastly, the MAMA Dried Suki ($15++) is one for those who enjoy Thai-style suki stir-fries. This street food staple features noodles and mixed veggies fried with a sweet and savoury sauce.
While you’re there, don’t miss their sure-win lucky draw! Spend at least $60++ in a single receipt with an order of at least one MAMA dish, and have a go at the digital spin-the-wheel. Prizes include MAMA shirts, keychains, and plushies.
