2. RYUKYU SLING ($25)

Ingredients:

Sangosho awamori
Pineapple juice
Fresh lime juice
Cherry heering
Benedictine DOM
Cointreau
Grenadine syrup
Angostura bitters

Thought Singapore was the only country with a drink named after it? Turns out, it’s not! Somerset Maugham, a well-known British novelist, actually named the Singapore Sling after our country’s beautiful sunset. With that, why not enjoy the Ryukyu Sling that’s named after the beautiful sunset of Okinawa (Ryukyu)!

3. AWAMORITA ($24)

Ingredients:

Zuisen Seiryu awamori
Shikwasa juice
Fresh lemon juice
Cointreau
Okinawa sea salt

Did you know that in Japan, 青 (ao) is blue, and in China, 青 (qing) is green? The pigment from the blue flower (butterfly pea) is often used in rice dumplings which are popular in Singapore and Malaysia! One highlight of this yellow cocktail is that it turns green when it mixes with the blue Zuisen Seiryu! Meaning “blue dragon”, the awamori used is to show Okinawa’s blue dragon changing into Singapore’s green dragon. The sea salt from Okinawa is lined around the rim of the glass to enhance its taste,as well as changing its acidity to a slightly sweet flavour. Be sure to pay attention to this aesthetically pleasing and delicious cocktail!

4. MA-SAN KOPI ($25)

Taihei awamori
Coffee liqueur
Fresh cream

The cocktail features a mixture of condensed milk and fresh cream floating on the base of the awamori and coffee liqueur. Feel free to mix and drink it, or you can enjoy it as it is! Definitely a must-try for coffee lovers!

Besides being mixed with incredible awamori, these four cocktails also represent the five colours according to the Five Elements Theory in feng shui!

Here’s how the cocktails illustrate the five colours:

Earth = Yellow (SANPIN HIGH)
Gold = White (MA-SAN KOPI)

Here’s why these ingredients are so unique!

Brown sugar
Okinawa’s brown sugar is harvested from the sugarcane fields in Okinawa. It is considered a healthier alternative to refined white sugar as it is high in calcium, potassium, and iron. Additionally, it can also help to prevent tooth decay and osteoporosis, enhance stress resistance, and lower blood cholesterol levels!

Okinawa’s islands are abundant with coral reefs that purify seawater while also releasing minerals that help keep the seawater clean. Okinawa’s sea salt is made from the island’s crystal-clear and pristine seawaters. It has a distinct flavour, with a subtle sweetness and a salty undertone. Additionally, it is also one of the most nutritious salts, containing high levels of potassium and calcium while being low in sodium!
