Crayon Shinchan Cafe in Singapore
Kumoya, the group responsible for bringing us cafes themed after the likes of Rilakkuma and Friends, Little Twin Stars, Sumikko Gurashi, and more, are back once more with a brand new concept: a Crayon Shinchan Cafe, to open in Jalan Klapa, near Bugis come 5 May.

Crayon Shinchan, or La Bi Xiao Xin, is one of the most iconic cartoon characters for many Singaporeans. The small, mischievous boy is a nostalgic force for many of us, and now, we’ll all get to relive this at the upcoming Crayon Shinchan cafe.

The cafe will be decked out in colourful Crayon Shinchan artwork, featuring the titular character doing all manner of things, from snacking, to cooking, and yes, even the flashing we all know and love him for.

The menu also features a wide selection of themed dishes, starting at $10.90++.

Look forward to dishes like the So Mischievous Japanese Seafood Curry Rice ($26.90++), where the mound of rice amongst the curry is shaped to look like Crayon Shinchan’s buttocks.
There is also the Shrio and the Lucky Stars Ebi Burger ($24.90++), where the burger bun is designed to look like Shiro, Crayon Shinchan’s dog.

On the dessert front, there is the Relaxing Onsen Pudding Parfait ($22.90++). This IG-worthy dessert features a real mist waterfall made from dry ice, and a custard pudding once again shaped like Crayon Shinchan’s backside.

Do note that there is a minimum order of one food or drink item to be able to visit the cafe, so if you prefer to try light bites, the cafe has bites from Stars Hash Brown with Sweet Potato Mochi Balls ($12.90++) to snack on, as well as beverages that range from Piak! Piak! Matcha Frappe ($13.90++) to lattes and hot chocolate.

All drinks are served with a limited edition Crayon Shinchan coaster, with four designs to collect. There will also be a selection of exclusive, never-seen-before-in-Singapore merchandise to purchase in-stores.
It is best to reserve a table beforehand, which you can do so on the Kumoya website. The cafe will be around for a limited time only, so head down as soon as you can!
