Alchemist reopens at Orchard Road with coffee and cruffins
Following its humble beginnings at Tanjong Pagar in 2016, Alchemist has seen exponential growth over the years with a total of seven outlets to its famed name today. Those who were devastated by the closing of their Design Orchard outlet can now heave a sigh of relief as the coffee bar has reopened at Orchard Road under the name of Alchemist The Heeren.

At first blush, the outlet may seem similar to Alchemist’s iconic minimalistic design coupled with a touch of greenery and wood accents. But upon closer inspection, you’ll notice that Alchemist The Heeren follows an outdoor concept, where you can enjoy a good cuppa while feeling the pulse of the bustling city.

Staying true to its outdoor concept, there’s no air conditioning available here. But not to worry, there are huge ceiling fans to alleviate Singapore’s sultry summer weather.

Alchemist takes pride in their Espresso ($4), which promises a good blend of fruity and acidic flavours. It’s said to be a crowd favourite from the homegrown brand’s sixth-anniversary celebration in 2022.

Besides really good coffee, Alchemist The Heeren offers a handful of pastries that make for great breakfast and dessert. A constant favourite among patrons is the Yuzu Lemon Danish ($5.50), a glazed, golden brown danish pastry brimming with yuzu and lemon curd. They also have cruffins and croissants on the menu, with rotating flavours.

Good news: Alchemist is celebrating their seventh anniversary this weekend, so perhaps this is your sign to drop by for a quick coffee break.
Alchemist has six other outlets you can pay a visit to, including the Robinson Road outlet and Bukit Merah cafe.
