Attention everyone! Amoy Street Food Centre has recently closed for renovations and will reopen three months later on Jan 10, 2022. The food centre at Telok Ayer will be undergoing repairs and redecoration, according to the National Environment Agency (NEA)’s website.

The iconic food centre was last renovated six years ago in 2014. The hawker centre was badly affected by the Work From Home (WFH) arrangements during this pandemic, as well as the dining in restrictions.

The upcoming renovation will include painting, mechanical and electrical works, such as replacing the light fittings and fans. Additionally, the replacement of sanitary pipes and kitchen exhaust motors, as well as toilet improvement works, according to NEA.

For those fans of the food at Amoy Street, fret not! You still might have a chance to eat from some of your favourite stalls! According to Mothership, NEA will offer temporary stalls to owners who request to continue their operations at other hawker centres during the period of the renovation, subjecting to stall availability and approval.
