With our list of frozen prata recipes, you can transform this staple into localised desserts such as kaya butter croissants, savoury snacks such as cheesy sambal garlic cups, and more.

Cinnamon rolls might be one of my favourite desserts of all time. I love the stickiness of the sweet filling, lightly spiced with cinnamon. You can easily make this dessert in the comfort of your own home, with this Prata Cinnamon Roll recipe.

9. Blueberry Pie

We’ve established in this list of recipes that frozen prata makes a great base for pies, pancakes, desserts, and the like. This blueberry pie recipe further supports that, as the prata pastry holds up well against the sweet-and-tart, homemade blueberry filling.

2 pieces of frozen prata, cut into smaller circles
1 cup blueberries
9g lemon juice
6g cornstarch
15g sugar
Salt
Directions:
- In a baking tray, bake the circles of prata for 10 minutes at 230⁰C.
- In a bowl, add blueberries, lemon juice, cornstarch, sugar, a sprinkle of salt, and mix.
- Top the pastry in the baking tray with this blueberry filling. Decorate the top with leftover pieces of frozen prata.
- Bake at 230⁰C for 15 minutes.

10. Red Bean Pancake
Red bean pancake is a sweet item I always reach out to at dim sum restaurants. Recreate this at home using frozen prata and store-bought red bean paste.
This is definitely my favourite recipe on the list—it’s more generously portioned than the red bean pancake you get at Chinese restaurants, and you’re free to stuff the pancake with as much filling as you want. The sesame seeds on top bring a nuttiness that helps cut through the sweetness of the red bean paste too.
Yield: 2 to 3 servings
Time needed: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
4 tbsp red bean paste
2 pieces of frozen prata
Black sesame seeds
White sesame seeds
1 tbsp oil
Directions:
- Spread red bean paste on a piece of prata.
- Top with another piece of prata, black sesame seeds, and white sesame seeds.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat, and fry the prata, with the sesame-seed-face down till golden brown, then flip and repeat. Serve warm.
