Rotiboy in Singapore
One of the things I miss the most about being able to travel abroad is getting my hands on a box of coffee buns from Rotiboy. Founded in Penang, the brand had a brief stint locally but has since disappeared, leaving us with just imitations of their iconic coffee buns made by other bakeries. No more, though, as Rotiboy is returning to Singapore, opening soon in KINEX.

KINEX, located in Katong, will see Rotiboy open in its basement, at unit #B1-29. No news yet as to when the stall is actually opening, as well as what more we can expect, but the hoarding is currently visible in the basement of the mall.

Expect to get your hands on their delicious coffee buns, from the classic Rotiboy, to other options, including a chocolate chip bun, cheese bun, and mocha bun.
For those who don’t know, Rotiboy makes fragrant Mexican coffee buns. Pillowy soft with a coffee-flavoured cookie crust, these are a must for many to get when they’re shopping around JB. Best enjoyed with a cup of coffee and a pat of butter, Rotiboy buns are a popular snack or breakfast for many of us.

We will update this article in time with more news on their opening. In the meantime, check out our attempt at making these buns with our Rotiboy coffee bun recipe, which you can replicate at home.
