The Fat Kid Bakery opens in Telok Ayer

We reviewed The Fat Kid Bakery quite a while back, when the bomboloni craze first hit Singapore. They’ve since closed their Ang Mo Kio store, and are now open on Amoy Street, just three minutes away from Telok Ayer MRT Station!

The new store is already open for its soft launch today from 10:30am to 5pm, with similar hours for their grand opening tomorrow on 18 April 2023. If you’re headed down today, you’ll get to enjoy 20% off everything! Tomorrow, you’ll be entitled to a free bomboloni if you’re one of the first 100 to snap a photo with their mural wall and tag them on their socials.

If you missed out on the bomboloni craze, they’re Italian stuffed doughnuts that are loved for their light, airy texture—zhnged up even more at The Fat Kid Bakery with their sourdough base.

The Fat Kid Bakery Review: Stuffed Donuts In Flavours Such As Calamansi, Sea Salt Maple And More

We tried their Sourdough Bombos (from $3.80) in classic flavours including ChocolateEarl Grey, and Blueberry Cheesecake, and loved the decadent fillings within.

Besides their signature sweet bombos, their Telok Ayer flagship will also feature a range of new savoury stuffed donuts! These include Torched Mentaiko, Sour Cream & Onion, and a Roasted Garlic Mascarpone!

Another savoury option to look forward to is Spicy Egg Mayo, also available a la carte or in a box. The savoury bombos are priced at $6.50 each.

Other goodies to expect at this new store include brownies, eclairs, cookies, French-style croissants, plus coffee made with Yahava beans. And if you’re a fan of The Fat Kid Bakery’s Sourdough Loaf ($10), you’ll be happy to hear that they’re also introducing a rotating menu of other bakes including milk loaves, country loaves, focaccia and even ciabatta, which will soon be used in a selection of sandwiches sold in-store!

While you’re in Telok Ayer, check out Chun Feng Man Mian for truffled and caviar-topped wonton noodles. Otherwise, check out Boeuf for free-flow Argentinian steak before you get your bombos for dessert.
