Regarded by many as one of the top char kway teow stalls in Singapore, Hai Kee Teochew Cha Kuay Teow has been operating since they relocated from Margaret Drive Hawker Centre. With more than 50 years of experience, Mr Loh Kwee Leng is known for frying one plate at a time, so be prepared to brave the long queues!

You can get a glistening plate of Char Kway Teow for $4.50 or $5. Fried with a mixture of yellow mee, kway teow, and beansprouts, this dish is said to have a strong wok hei. The noodles are then tossed in a sweet and savoury sauce, preventing the noodles from drying out. Reviews also rave about their generous servings of fresh, plump and juicy cockles. Plus, there’s flavourful and crunchy pork lard hidden like gems in the dish. If you’re not a fan, you can even request for less pork lard.
While the $4.50 portion is said to be sufficient, you get egg in their $5 serving. The dish lacks the typical Chinese sausages and chives that come with most CKT, but many customers are still satisfied with the flavourful dish they get here.
