Melbourne’s Puzzle Coffee to open soon in ION Orchard

With the opening of the Thomson-East Coast Line, or TEL, Orchard Road has suddenly become even more accessible. Get off at Orchard MRT Station, which leads right into Basement One of ION Orchard, to find Puzzle Coffee, a Melbournian import that’s looking to start operations next week.

Located at Exit 9 from the TEL, you’ll find Puzzle Coffee to your immediate right once you step into the mall. You’ll first be greeted by the coffee counter, with a glass display that we assume will hold pastries and the like when they’re open for business. There appears to be a small area with stools and tables for dine-in customers too.

Puzzle Coffee is a popular Melbourne coffee spot that has four outlets to its name, with ION Orchard being their fifth, and first international location. They pride themselves on sourcing only the best, fairly traded specialty coffee beans from around the world and roasting them in-house—though they will do this via partnerships with local roasters in Singapore.

As part of their social initiatives, Puzzle Coffee is known for serving their hot drinks in edible biscuit cups made of oats and grains. Not only does this reduce the amount of waste going into landfills, but the cups also make for a great accompaniment to your drinks!

The menu for their ION outlet is not confirmed yet, but you can look forward to standard cafe drinks in hot and cold variations, and non-coffee drinks including matcha lattes, chai lattes, Biscoff Latte, and more.

Also spotted on the Melbs menu is The Black Sesame, a goma latte!

Down under in Melbourne, Puzzle Coffee serves pastries such as croissants and hot sandwiches as well. We aren’t sure what they’re keeping on the menu here, but popular options include Vegemite & Cheese Twist, Red Bean Bun, doughnuts, Tuna Melt, and Beef Pastrami. Keep an eye on their Instagram page for more on their upcoming opening right here in Singapore, and we’ll update this post when we have more information!
