Anna’s is a new sourdough-themed cafe in Punggol
Singapore’s North-Easties have one more reason to love their hood with the opening of Anna’s—a new, sourdough-focused cafe and retail store located along Oasis Terraces in Punggol that makes more than just sourdough loaves.

Many of us turned to baking during the Covid-19 lockdowns, but Anna Lim, founder of The Soup Spoon, took it one step further when she undertook a sourdough nutrition and digestibility diploma course from The Sourdough School.

At Anna’s, sourdough isn’t simply a loaf of bread to have at breakfast or brunch; the cafe is open till 10:30pm daily, so you can expect to have a meal here at any time of the day.

Expect highlights such as the Forest Forager Sourdough Pizza ($32), topped with maitake and shimeiji mushrooms, mozzarella, Parmesan, arugula, and edible flowers, or Crab and Mozza Sourdough Pizza ($35), with kaffir lime aioli, mango, crabmeat and more.

Come between 11am and 3pm, and you can look forward to a Grilled Kimcheese Toastie ($17), where house-made sourdough sandwiches kimchi, made in-house too, as well as a blend of cheddar and Parmesan. It even comes with tomato bisque to dip the toastie in!

What’s interesting is the selection of handmade sourdough pastas, which are done four ways, including the classic Italian Meatballs ($22), an Umami Carbonara ($22) prepared with white miso and no cream, as well as a spicy Red Sea Prawn Aglio Olio ($32).

For dessert, consider Anna’s take on Sourdough Bombolinis (price TBA), and pair it with one of her sourdough-based drinks, known as Souperfizzes ($7) and Soupersmoothies ($8).
