Malay Food Stall At Albert Centre

Located at Albert Food Centre, Pondok Makan Indonesia serves delicious Malay Food! Not only is their food amazing, but the dishes are mostly affordably priced – so you won’t be breaking your bank when you dine in here.

A must-try is their Satay ($0.70/stick). You can choose from Mutton, Beef and Chicken. The peanut gravy is perfectly seasoned – it went extremely well with the satay. The peanuts add an extra crunch so you get to taste the different textures from both the gravy and the satay.

Savoury And Smoky Satay

Each satay is marinated well – nothing is too much in terms of flavours! The satay is grilled to perfection – which gives off a smoky flavour. Among the three types of satay offered, the mutton is the most impressive. Mutton can come across as too strong in terms of its gamey flavour, however, the mutton satay did not give off any of that. Do give it a try, even if you’re not a big fan of mutton. It might change your perspective!

Another popular menu here is their Mee Rebus ($3.50). The portion here is quite generous too! Though it is more on the sweeter side, the green chilli and egg help to tone down the flavour slightly, so it is still a decent bowl of mee rebus. Even without eating the green chilli, the gravy has a slight kick to it as well. This is one for those who enjoy sweet and spicy.

A classic menu that should not be missed out on is Mee Soto ($3.50). This place serves a good bowl of mee Soto – It was so flavourful! Even without adding their sambal kicap, their soup is already good on its own. If you want a kick though, feel free to add in their sambal kicap – it brings this dish to another level.
