Prata Stall At Upper Thomson

Located at the corner of Gim Huat Coffeeshop, Sin Ming Roti Prata has been operating for many years and offers a variety of different Indian Muslim dishes. However, just like the name of their stall – they are more well-known for their prata! Unlike other places where customers will order the usual plain and egg prata combination, most of the people queuing up at the stall would be getting their iconic Crispy Coin Prata Set!

The Crispy Coin Prata Set ($4.50) includes six coin pratas, served along with a curry of your choice (Chicken/Mutton/Fish). You can also request for your meat choice to be added in your curry if you’d like to as well!

As you cut into the prata, you can tell how crispy their prata is! The sound of the crisp definitely makes you look forward to digging into this prata dish even more. The pieces are also easy to cut into even though the inner part of the prata was slightly on the doughier side.

Unlike other prata’s, the crispy coin prata dough surprisingly gives off a sweet and savoury flavour! This will then make you not feel as if you’re biting into plain boring dough! This makes eating the prata on its own a much more enjoyable experience because you can taste the different flavours of sweet and savoury coming from the dough.

The chicken curry served here is more on the sweeter side, but there is a spicy kick lingering as you dip your prata more and more! It did complement the prata, however even without the curry, the crispy coin prata is already so good on its own!
