Legendary Hong Kong at Funan

After opening their first outlet at Jurong Point, Legendary Hong Kong has officially opened a second outlet in town, in the basement of Funan Mall.
From their food to the ambience, everything brings you back to the streets of Hong Kong. The flashing neon lights at the front of the store mimic the bustling streets of Kowloon at night, and the interior decor is similar to the old-school tea houses that can be found all over Hong Kong.

Legendary Hong Kong initially rose to prominence in Singapore with its HK-style cuisine of dim sum, egg tarts, french toast, and cart noodles. Though their Funan outlet will be operating with a scaled-down menu, fret not, as you will still be able to get your fix of char chaan teng favourites.

One item they have decided to retain is their Hong Kong Cart Noodles (from $2+), which you can customise to your liking. They have six types of noodles including yellow noodles and rice noodles. From there, choose either dry or clear broth, your vegetables ($1+), and toppings (from $1+). The more popular ones include beef brisket ($2+), pig’s intestine ($2+), and pork chop ($2.50+).

If you fancy just a quick snack after some shopping, Legendary Hong Kong has got you covered too. At a mere $1.80+, get their Custard Crust Bun, AKA bolo bun. Fun fact: bolo buns were added to Hong Kong’s Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2014! These buns certainly deserve the glory with their crunchy, golden, checkered tops and soft, fluffy dough.

It wouldn’t be a Hong Kong restaurant without the iconic Traditional French Toast ($4.50+). This tall slice of toast, slathered in condensed milk with a thick slab of butter is a crowd favourite, and understandably so. Enjoy this tea time delight with additional toppings, such as Peanut Butter ($0.80+) or Ham and Cheese ($1.50+) for extra indulgence.

Other honourable mentions include their Crispy Egg Tart ($1.80+) and HK Style Milk Tea, which can be served either hot ($2.80+) or cold ($3.60+).
