Mr Wong offers the beef noodles in both soup and dry versions with laksa bee hoon, regular bee hoon or la mian. The Dry Mixed Beef Noodles ($6) comes highly recommended and is certain to hit the spot. This tasty dish comes with generous chunks of beef, tendons and beef slices. Additionally, it is topped off with pickled vegetables, roasted peanuts, chopped spring onions and toasted sesame seeds. What a spread of ingredients!

The noodles are coated in a thick and mildly herbal and sweet sauce, which has a nice depth of flavour. Every slurp of the noodles is an explosion on your tastebuds! Additionally, it is very rich yet it doesn’t overpower the flavour of the beef. The beef slices are well-marinated and super tender. The beef chunks are also amazingly tender and have the perfect amount of fats that simply melt in your mouth. Additionally, the tendons have the perfect chewy texture, making every bite of the beef simply heavenly.

The sourness of the pickled vegetables helps to balance out the sauce, as well as add a nice crunchy texture to the dish. What’s unique about the chilli is that pineapple is added, giving it a slight tang to it! The chilli is a mix between chicken rice and bbq chicken chilli, making it a bit of an acquired taste. However, for those who are feeling adventurous, it is definitely worth a try!
