For an affordable date that doesn’t skimp on quality, check out halal steak restaurant Picanhas’, known for their wallet-friendly grub and refreshing mocktails. For mains, the Queen of Steak ($25++) impresses with its rump cap cut, lightly seasoned and grilled to perfection.

Sen-ryo is a famous Japanese restaurant with over 10 outlets in Hong Kong, and one in Singapore, at ION Orchard. 9. Mama Diam

Located along Prinsep Street is Mama Diam, a one-of-a-kind dining and drinking concept inspired by the good ol’ mamak shops that thrived in the 1980s to early 2000. 10. Tipo Pasta Bar

If you’ve not heard of Tipo Pasta Bar, you’re missing out. This halal restaurant at Bugis serves customisable pasta dishes from just $9.90+. If you prefer not to DIY, there are plenty of fixed combinations, such as the Prawn Aglio Pasta ($15.90+) and Royal Ragu ($15.90+). The cosy space makes for a casual yet romantic date spot for any day of the week, but be warned that they get rather busy during peak hours.

11. Peppermint 

If your date loves free-flow anything, pop by Peppermint at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay, a buffet restaurant where you both can stuff your faces silly.
