Best Japanese yakiniku outlets in Singapore you must visit
It is a truth well-acknowledged that yakiniku has earned a special place in Singaporeans’ hearts in recent years. As a yakiniku fan, learning that new restaurants offering cheaper yakiniku alternatives are springing up across Singapore is incredible news to me. If you’re on the hunt for yakiniku like me, here’s a list of the best yakiniku places in Singapore for you to satisfy your Japanese BBQ cravings.
1. Yakiniku Go
Located conveniently across the island at six outlets, Yakiniku Go boasts value-for-money options for its yakiniku. We recommend trying their signature Yakiniku-GO Set (from $15.80++) which has three popular cuts of beef: Beef Short Plate, Beef Ribeye Steak and Beef Tongue, accompanied by rice and soup. We were impressed by the four sauces that you get with any of the grilled meat. These four sauces were created in-house by Yakiniku-GO’s very own Japanese head chef: House Special Yakiniku Tare, Spicy Yakiniku Tare, Miso Tare, and Negi Shio Tare!

12. 59 Hutong Yakiniku
Located along the scenic Singapore River, 59 Hutong Yakiniku stands out for their exquisite selection of Wagyu beef and seafood. Our writer was mind blown by their stellar dishes here, starting with AUS Wagyu Thin Cut Tongue ($28++), which he loved for its texture. It’s pricey, but the A5 Wagyu Ribeye Roll ($72++) stole the show with its melt-in-the-mouth finish. Have it alongside Wagyu Beef Japanese Rice ($10++) for a Wagyu version of the Taiwanese lu rou fan!
It’s not all about the meat here, because our writer also had much praise for their Raw Crab Roe ($18++)━a medley of miso-tossed crab roe with chunks of crab meat.
