1. White Restaurant

The Original White Beehoon ($7.90++/$13.90++), make no mistake about it, was invented by White Restaurant, and no other rendition comes close. This April and May, dine with your Citi Card, and you’ll be able to enjoy selected noodle and rice dishes 1-for-1

Choose from a selection of three dishes, including The Original White Beehoon, the Prawn and Chinese Sausage Fried Rice ($8.90++/$13.90++), and XO Twin Scallop Fried Rice ($9.90++/$14.90++). All you have to do is hit a minimum spending of $50, and your carb dishes will automatically be entitled to this deal. Other than their white bee hoon, they’ve got lots of other zi char dishes that they’re known for, such as Salted Egg Sotong ($16.80++/$22.80++), Signature Fried Wings ($12.80++/$18.80++), and Signature Meat & Seafood Roll ($14.80++/$22.30++), which you can have together with your rice and noodle dishes.

2. Red House Seafood

Red House Seafood is one of the grand dames of the seafood scene in Singapore, with more than 40 years of experience serving up Nanyang-style seafood. It’s literally impossible to visit without ordering at least one crab dish, which you can choose to be prepared with Sri Lankan Mud Crab or Alaskan King Crab. Then, it’s highly recommended that you go for the Red House Chilli Crab, AKA their take on the quintessential Singaporean chilli crab, or Wok-Fried and Tossed in Pepper━choose either white or black for this.

3. Slappy Cakes

You may not know this, but Slappy Cakes is not actually a local concept. These make-your-own pancakes actually originated in Portland, Oregon, and were introduced in Singapore 10 years ago. The pancake batter is prepared fresh, and comes in flavours such as Peanut Butter, Buttermilk, Chocolate, and a locally inspired Pandan

If you’re not here for the DIY pancakes or DIY Okonomiyaki ($27++), that’s alright, because they’ve got brunch fare and pasta too━when you pay with a Citi Card, all pastas on the menu are buy one, get one free! The Carbonara with Egg ($18++) is a good one, with chicken ham, turkey bacon, and an onsen egg. You’ll never go wrong with a Spaghetti Beef Bolognese ($17++) too, otherwise check out Seafood Aglio Olio ($20++), sautéed with squid, prawn, scallop, and chilli flakes.

4. QĪN Restaurant & Bar

Located in the heart of CBD, on the fourth and fifth floors of The Clan Hotel Singapore, is QĪN Restaurant & Bar. Pronounced ‘chin’, the restaurant serves mod-Asian cuisine, with specials such as Sang Mein ($48++), featuring silky capellini tossed with umami-rich crustacean oil and served with Red Leg Prawn. Before you get to that part of the meal, your Citi Card will entitle you to 1-for-1 starters, including Har Cheong Wing ($10++), Chicharrones ($10++), and Thunderclap Roti Prata ($10-12++), for an East-meets-West flavour. 

On the mains front, look forward to Coquelet ($28++), where corn-fed French chicken is served with a crispy chicken rice onigiri, house-made fermented garlic chilli aioli, and shoyu jus. Finally, end with Pineapple Tart ($10++), featuring MD2 pineapple, pineapple jam, and passionfruit curd, or their signature Phraya Rum Sticky Date Pudding ($12++)

5. Delifrance

Delifrance needs no further introduction: the iconic cafe chain has been feeding us for more than three decades now, with 14 outlets scattered across the island. If you’re a Delifrance fan, and hold a Citi Card, you’re in luck this April and May.

Your Citi Credit Card will stretch your dollar when you check out the sandwiches, and only the sandwiches, at any of the Delifrance bakeries, because they’re all going at 1-for-1.Go for one of their signatures: Egg D’vine ($7.80), Chicken D’light ($8.50), or Seafood D’sire ($8.80). Otherwise, you can also check out the premium range of sandwiches, including Chicken Ham and Cheese, Chicken BLT, or Smoked Salmon. These are priced at $8.80 each.

6. Hua Ting Restaurant, The Orchard Hotel Singapore

Michelin-selected Hua Ting Restaurant at The Orchard Hotel Singapore has been one of the Chinese restaurant stalwarts in Singapore since they first opened in 1992, offering Cantonese fare and dim sum. 

Pay with a Citi Card this April and May, and your table will get a complimentary Chef’s Special of the Day when you hit a minimum spending of $200! If it’s your first time here, consider their Smoked Peking Duck ($49++/$92++), served with yuzu sauce, or the Charcoal-Grilled Spanish Iberico Pork “Char Siew” ($26++). Another signature dish to try is Poached Duo Rice, Lobster Meat, Lobster Stock, Hot Stone Bowl ($38++), which comes in a garoupa version too, priced at $28++.

Hakata-style ramen is the name of the game at Fukuoka-founded IPPUDO, famous for their creamy tonkotsu, or pork bone, broth. With more than 100 restaurants globally, you can be sure that founder Shigemi Kawahara, affectionately known as “Ramen King”, knows what he’s doing. 

The signature Shiromaru Motoaji (from $15.90++) is IPPUDO’s bestselling bowl of ramen, served with the classic thin, straight noodles, pork belly chashu, and various garnishes. For a richer kick, order their Akamaru Shinaji (from $16.90++), zhnged up with a house-blended miso paste and garlic oil. Spice lovers, go for Karaka Men (from $17.90++), where the tonkotsu base is blended with spices, sweet and spicy miso paste, and Sichuan peppers. Spend $70 and get the bill with a Citi Card at Aburi-EN to receive a complimentary serving of Organic Hokkaido Potato Wedges (U.P. $8.90++)! If you’ve not been here, Aburi-EN specialises in grilled meat rice bowls, made with top quality Nanatsuboshi rice from Hokkaido. Their Premium Buta Don ($16.50++) features chestnut pork, AKA pigs that are fattened on these nuts, and said to produce especially tender, flavourful meat. 

Otherwise, consider the Iberico Hoho Don ($17.90++), where Spanish pork jowl is grilled and laid on the same Grade A rice. If you’re team beef, go for Wagyu Roast Steak Jyu ($34++), a more premium bowl topped with A4 or A5 Miyazaki Wagyu from Japan, a four-time award-winning beef

10. Monster Curry

Curry doesn’t get more epic than at Monster Curry, the only restaurant in Singapore that’s got Japanese demi-glace curry, specially concocted with a whopping total of 14 vegetables and spices. That’s not all━their curry is served on plates that measure 35cm or 41cm across, with five levels of spiciness!

A combo curry at Monster Curry is good for two to three, with options including Monster Combo Curry ($32++), topped with pork katsu, pork shabu shabu, shrimp tempura, fried fish, and cheese.
